Winter Dock Conditions

As the winter season is upon us, we want to make all of our marina members are aware of the sometimes less-than-perfect conditions down on the docks. As you would expect this time of year, the docks can become extremely slippery. Ice and snow may cause hazardous walking conditions, and we advise you to use caution when traveling on our docks.

We will sand at the bottom of both ramp ways, and have sand available for member use, should you decide the area around your vessel requires it. We will not be spreading any salt or chemicals on the docks at any time as this can cause damage to the surfaces. We would ask you to refrain from doing this on your own. We’ll also be providing snow shovels at the top of the ramp and at the cart rack at the end of the main walkway, for those energetic enough to shovel snow from their slip fingers.

In the event of severe weather conditions, the Marina will continue to provide access to emergency vehicles.

We again urge you to use care when traveling on our docks and would also recommend the use of some well know footwear traction products sold at REI or BASS SHOES. These reasonably priced Yaktrax products are very effective in ice and snow and are used by our maintenance team.

Have a safe and enjoyable Winter.
