I am not a sailor, nor am I even a boater. Just walking the docks on a windy day is enough to bring the green to my gills. But there is something about a sailboat with its colors flying that makes me dream of sailing off into the sunset. This month’s copy of 48° North has many great articles on sailing, including a great short story on racing “Who got the gun?” by Millie Magner.  The adrenaline rushing through the crew can be felt coming right off of the page, but I would hate to be the one “stuffing the kite”.

The US Power Squadron is offering a class titled ‘Sail Course’, for all levels of sailors.  Information and registration can be found at education@boatingisfun. This is a great opportunity to learn or gain more confidence in the skills required for sailing.

If you have a sailboat and require rigging or sail work done, check out the business section on our website at Semiahmoomarina.com.
